Thursday I joined the group that went to the food bank. We separated groceries into many different categories. From can goods to peanut butter and jelly, it was one of the most fast pace jobs that I have scene all week. After lunch we changed jobs and packed small bags called Power Packs. They were small weekend bags of food that are passed out to less fortunate children at their schools.They consisted of various foods. We had packed 910 bags and 3,726 pounds of groceries.
Now for the afternoon activity I joined one of the Backyard Bible Schools. We had snacks, crafts, games, music and story time. The kids had a great time playing games and singing songs as they learned about Christ and his story of birth, death, and resurrection.
For fun that night we played volleyball and socialized with each other at the church the other group was staying at.
I have watched All of these kids work threw out this week and have been amazed by the drive they have to bless others.
